November 26, 2023

Do you want to write LinkedIn posts that get more views, likes, comments, and shares? Do you want to grow your network, build your brand, and showcase your expertise? If so, you need to know how to write engaging posts that capture attention and spark conversations.

In this post, I’m going to share with you 11 hacks that I use to write more engaging LinkedIn posts. These hacks are based on my own experience, research, and best practices. They are not hard to implement, but they can make a big difference in your results.

Here they are:

  1. Keep it simple. Stick to plain text and avoid using too many hashtags, links, or images that might distract from your message. Focus on one main idea or topic per post and make it clear and concise.
  1. Add emojis to your posts to make them more engaging and expressive. Emojis can help you convey emotions, emphasize points, or break up walls of text. They can also make your posts more fun and friendly. But don’t overdo it – use them sparingly and appropriately.

  2. Write a killer headline that captures attention and curiosity. A good headline should be clear, concise, and compelling. It should also include keywords that are relevant to your industry or topic. A good headline can make or break your post, so spend some time crafting it.

  3. Open with a story that relates to your audience or topic. Stories can help you connect with your audience, build trust, and illustrate your points. You can share a personal story, a success story from a client or customer, or a story from a thought leader in your industry. Make sure your story is relevant, authentic, and engaging.

  4. Break up walls of text with paragraphs, bullet points, or emojis. This can make your posts easier to read and digest. You can also use bold or italic fonts to highlight keywords or phrases. Aim for short sentences and paragraphs that are easy to scan and understand.

  5. @Mention well-known connections who are relevant to your post or industry. This can help you expand your reach, generate engagement, and show your credibility. You can also tag people who might be interested in your post or who have contributed to it. But don’t spam or tag people randomly – only tag people who are relevant and add value to your post.

  6. Give specific instructions on what you want your audience to do next. For example, you can ask them to comment, like, share, or follow you. You can also provide a link to your website, blog, or landing page if you want them to learn more or take action. Make it easy for them to engage with you and your content.

  7. Always end by asking a question that invites your audience to share their opinions, experiences, or feedback. This can help you spark a conversation, increase engagement, and learn more about your audience. Ask open-ended questions that are relevant and interesting. Avoid yes/no questions or questions that are too vague or broad.

  8. Share a statistic or research finding related to your industry or topic. This can provide context and demonstrate trends. Be sure to provide a reliable source and explain its relevance. Consider how the finding might be useful or interesting to your audience and provide context to help them understand its significance.

  9. Share a behind-the-scenes look at your company or team. This can give your audience a glimpse into your business and help them feel more connected to you. You can share photos or videos of your office, projects, events, or culture. Show them what makes you unique and what you’re passionate about.

  10. Be consistent in posting regularly and frequently. Consistency is key to building trust, credibility, and visibility on LinkedIn. Create a posting schedule and stick with it. Plan and batch-create your posts in advance and use a scheduling tool (such as Inlytics) to stay right on schedule.
